| But the reporters and law enforcement officials hardly ever know what the hell they are talking about. They use faulty logic and slippery slopes to generalize the population of motorsport enthusiasts. Sometimes, it just gets annoying. “If this car was running 145 mile an hour, if it were to blow a tire out, it would go across the median into coming traffic,” Lieutenant Keith Stone said." I guess that's one possibility...but it always seems like they choose the worst case scenario to share with the viewing audience. "But these alleged racers are not just speeding along the Interstate. They have shot video and posted them on YouTube showing them racing around in parking lots." I'm pretty sure they aren't "racing" in parking lots...more likely drifting or just showboating. Again, not saying it's ok...just more than likely an inaccuarate generalization. In short, it's probably the idiots that got arrested that are doing more of a disservice to the motorsport community, but the way in which these reports are presented surely aren't helping.
